Sweet n Sour

I knew it was bound to happen some day, but I (not so secretly) hoped it was in the very far future. I have been asked to teach the lesson in Relief Society this Sunday.
Matt and I were in charge of the cute little sunbeams for 3 years when we first got married and I only had to teach the lesson maybe 3 or 4 times. Matt is the teacher in this relationship for goodness sake. He is an awesome speaker and doesn't even prepare a talk. He just writes down 4 scriptures and then can speak for the entire time and everyone leaves a better person. I write 20 pages typed out and everyone leaves lethargic because they were trying so hard not to fall asleep. I am sure it will be fine, but I can't make any guarantees.

So I am changing the subject now.....
At Walmart, as we are slowly making our way down the cereal isle, Max shouts,

" WHoa!! Mom, look at that guy's hair. It is WILD, kinda crazy ...like it sticks up and it's WILD" ( then proceeded to point with his mouth wide open at the poor guy)

The guy he was pointing at had a shaved head except for a very spiky mohawk. Oh yeah, and he was standing only 2 feet away. Did I mention Max shouted his commentary?

Ava loves to say HI to every person we walk/drive by or even see in the distance. A funny , but naughty, moment for Ava this week was when we were at the grocery store and Ava said Hi to an older lady and the lady bent down to say Hi back. Ava smiled sweetly and said HI again and the lady leaned in closer and said "Hi Sweet-heart".

Ava slapped her on the face.
We love her feisty little spirit. Even if sometimes I have to try not to laugh as I am apologizing to some poor lady in the grocery store.

Max's 4th Birthday

I am finally posting about Max's 4th Birthday. We had a little party at the park and the kids had fun playing in the water. Max is really into SuPeRhErOs right now so he wanted a Spiderman themed party. Here are some pictures of the party.

I was sitting at the table helping Ava eat her lunch when Max saunters up, pats Ava's back and then pats my back and says,
" These are the good ladies of the world"
Then without another word he turns around and walks away.

Well I had a brilliant idea this evening. Max was outside playing with his friend , Matt was at school, I was bored, and it was getting close to bathtime.....so Ava and I decided to make COOKIES. It was brilliant because... Ava could get as messy as she wanted because she was headed straight to the bath afterwards anyway. We had so much fun and I took some cute pictures of my little helper.

I love my little lady so much.
