Camping

We went up to Pine Valley a couple of weeks ago to get out of the heat and to go camping. I have just never gotten around to posting some pictures. We had lots of fun and it was Ava's first camping adventure. She was soaking wet in the first 5 minutes we were there. It was lots of fun and I am wishing that I was there right now.

The HIKE

Matt and I have been wanting to hike the subway in Zions National Park for a while but it is a tricky process. You have to put in for tickets and it is sort of a lottery situation. We were lucky and we were chosen for Aug 1st and we were allowed to take 12 people. Matt was pumped to take his young men on this hike and we had some extra spots so my bff Staci came down for the hike too. It was such an adventure and it was as intense as I had heard it can be.
There are 3 different spots you have to repell down on the hike, and there are several parts of the hike where you are walking through slot canyons and swimming through freezing water with all your gear. The scenery is breathtaking and pictures don't do it justice. The hike itself wasn't too bad, until you get to the last 3 miles. Matt and I can't wait to hike this again someday. ( Maybe next summer if we can) But I will say this..... it took me 15 minutes to get out of bed the morning after the hike. I was pretty sure that every muscle in my body was sore. I walked around like an old lady for 2 days. I feel great now and I am so glad I did it. I was so proud of all of the young men in our group who came and finished the hike. It wasn't easy and they did an awesome job!!

I was the brave one who tried this first. Yes it hurt....but it was also so much fun!!! No regrets. Oh...and sorry about all the whining at the end of the video. I was complaining that I just ripped my bum off. ha ha
